Welcome!

Welcome!! My name is Paul Lappen. I am in my early 60s, single, and live in Connecticut USA. This blog will consist of book reviews, written by me, on a wide variety of subjects. I specialize, as much as possible, in small press and self-published books, to give them whatever tiny bit of publicity help that I can. Other than that, I am willing to review nearly any genre, except poetry, romance, elementary-school children's books and (really bloody) horror.

I have another 800 reviews at my archive blog: http://www.deadtreesreviewarchive.blogspot.com (please visit).

I post my reviews to:

booklore.co.uk
midwestbookreview.com
Amazon and B&N (of course)
Librarything.com
Goodreads.com
Books-a-million.com
Reviewcentre.com
Pinterest.com
and on Twitter

I am always looking for more places to post my reviews.

Winners' Guide to Essential ISEE/SSAT (Lower) Math Grade 4-5

Winners' Guide to Essential ISEE/SSAT (Lower) Math Grade 4-5, A Anderson, Independently Published, 2019

For any student in Grades 4-5 who is about to take the ISEE/SSAT test, this book attempts to help by teaching the math portion, starting with the basics.

The topics covered in this book range from place values to geometry and statistics. Along the way, the student will learn how to round off numbers, arithmetic with decimal numbers, square and cube numbers, multiplying and dividing fractions, quadrilaterals, data organization and pie charts. For each concept, there are several pages of examples, along with review questions at the end of the section.

This book does a very good job of taking the student through each concept, step-by-step. It is very much worth considering for your test preparation.
