Welcome!

Welcome!! My name is Paul Lappen. I am in my early 60s, single, and live in Connecticut USA. This blog will consist of book reviews, written by me, on a wide variety of subjects. I specialize, as much as possible, in small press and self-published books, to give them whatever tiny bit of publicity help that I can. Other than that, I am willing to review nearly any genre, except poetry, romance, elementary-school children's books and (really bloody) horror.

I have another 800 reviews at my archive blog: http://www.deadtreesreviewarchive.blogspot.com (please visit).

I post my reviews to:

booklore.co.uk
midwestbookreview.com
Amazon and B&N (of course)
Librarything.com
Goodreads.com
Books-a-million.com
Reviewcentre.com
Pinterest.com
and on Twitter

I am always looking for more places to post my reviews.

Barbara O'Neill Natural Holistic Remedies Complete Collection - 20 Books in 1

Barbara O’Neill Natural Holistic Remedies Complete Collection – 20 Books in 1,

Rebecca Wimborne, 2024

This is a huge compendium (almost 1000 pages) of information on natural and holistic healing. It is based on the writings of Barbara O'Neill, a very well-known person in the natural health world.

It starts with the basics. What is natural healing and why should I care about it? Should I use it instead of conventional, Western medicine? No, the reader should use holistic medicine along with, not instead of, conventional medicine.

Herbal healing has been around for thousands of years. This omnibus book talks about the best herbs, and the best ways to get them into your body. What are the best herbal remedies for common ailments? It profiles common herbs, like garlic, nettle and sage. There is an entire book on detoxification. Other books are about healing chronic illnesses and natural pain relief.

As with anything else related to health, a visit to your local doctor, ahead of time, is a good idea, especially if you are planning a multi-day detox. Pick just one section in this book-of-books, like joint pain or emotional assistance. If the remedies in that section work for you, try another section. This is an excellent book to keep on your bookshelf, or in your kindle.
