Welcome!

Welcome!! My name is Paul Lappen. I am in my early 60s, single, and live in Connecticut USA. This blog will consist of book reviews, written by me, on a wide variety of subjects. I specialize, as much as possible, in small press and self-published books, to give them whatever tiny bit of publicity help that I can. Other than that, I am willing to review nearly any genre, except poetry, romance, elementary-school children's books and (really bloody) horror.

I have another 800 reviews at my archive blog: http://www.deadtreesreviewarchive.blogspot.com (please visit).

I post my reviews to:

booklore.co.uk
midwestbookreview.com
Amazon and B&N (of course)
Librarything.com
Goodreads.com
Books-a-million.com
Reviewcentre.com
Pinterest.com
and on Twitter

I am always looking for more places to post my reviews.

The Ultimate Crock Pot Cookbook for Beginners

The Ultimate Crock Pot Cookbook for Beginners, Brendon Esqueda, 2025

Did you receive a crock pot as a gift, and don't know what to do with it? This book may be able to help.

Are you interested in reducing your time in the kitchen? Would you like a hot meal waiting for you after a long day at work? All you do is add the ingredients to the crock pot, turn it on and leave it on for several hours. The lower temperature and extended cooking time allow for more thorough cooking.

There are a lot of recipes in this book (with no pictures in the Kindle edition), including breakfast, seafood, meat, vegetarian, soups and dessert. For less experienced chefs, these recipes are very beginner-friendly.

Try just one recipe; start with dessert. If you like it, try a second recipe (then a third recipe). Here is a very good book to begin your journey to become a crock pot expert.
