Welcome!

Welcome!! My name is Paul Lappen. I am in my early 60s, single, and live in Connecticut USA. This blog will consist of book reviews, written by me, on a wide variety of subjects. I specialize, as much as possible, in small press and self-published books, to give them whatever tiny bit of publicity help that I can. Other than that, I am willing to review nearly any genre, except poetry, romance, elementary-school children's books and (really bloody) horror.

I have another 800 reviews at my archive blog: http://www.deadtreesreviewarchive.blogspot.com (please visit).

I post my reviews to:

booklore.co.uk
midwestbookreview.com
Amazon and B&N (of course)
Librarything.com
Goodreads.com
Books-a-million.com
Reviewcentre.com
Pinterest.com
and on Twitter

I am always looking for more places to post my reviews.

Dr. Sebi's Natural Healing Bible

Dr Sebi's Natural Healing Bible, Celeste Morgan, 2025, ISBN 979-8-31606-0184

Dr. Sebi was a very well-known figure in the world of natural healing. His philosophy is all about the body's pH balance (from high school science class).

The pH numbers go from 0 to 14. The lower the number, the more acidic your body is. The chances are increased of contracting things like chronic inflammation, which can lead to all sorts of health problems. An optimum pH balance for the human body is approximately 7.4. How does a person get there?

Greatly increase your consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables (which are alkaline-forming). Drink lots of water and include nuts and legumes in your diet. Greatly decrease, or eliminate, your consumption of sugar, soda and processed foods, which are more acid-forming.

The book looks at specific ailments, like cancer and diabetes. It explores herbs that can help, along with other things a person can do, like exercise, journaling and meditation. This is not intended as a cure for any disease, but, if this book can reduce the severity of the disease, then this is a very good thing.

As with any other health book, a trip to your local doctor, ahead of time, is a very good idea. This book is excellent, and easy to read. Even if a person can move part of the way toward being healthy, this book is worth the money.
