Welcome!

Welcome!! My name is Paul Lappen. I am in my early 60s, single, and live in Connecticut USA. This blog will consist of book reviews, written by me, on a wide variety of subjects. I specialize, as much as possible, in small press and self-published books, to give them whatever tiny bit of publicity help that I can. Other than that, I am willing to review nearly any genre, except poetry, romance, elementary-school children's books and (really bloody) horror.

I have another 800 reviews at my archive blog: http://www.deadtreesreviewarchive.blogspot.com (please visit).

I post my reviews to:

booklore.co.uk
midwestbookreview.com
Amazon and B&N (of course)
Librarything.com
Goodreads.com
Books-a-million.com
Reviewcentre.com
Pinterest.com
and on Twitter

I am always looking for more places to post my reviews.

The Quick Mediterranean Diet Cookbook for Beginners

The Quick Mediterranean Diet Cookbook for Beginners, Zdenka Jiraskova, 2024

The Mediterranean Diet has many health benefits. It concentrates on the fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain, nuts and fish from that region (with an occasional glass of red wine).

Olive oil is a cornerstone of the Diet. The emphasis is on plant-based food, like legumes, seeds and fresh fruits and vegetables. Also included in the Diet are lean proteins (seafood), whole grains (barley and whole wheat) and herbs and spices (instead of salt). Among the Diet's many health benefits are weight management, longevity and cognitive health and diabetes management. Along with your new eating habits, consider increasing your interaction with other people and increasing you daily physical activity.

This book is full of recipes, for all meals. Try just one recipe in this book. If you like it, try another recipe (and then a third recipe). This cookbook is full of information, for those who are serious about wanting to improve their health, and those who simply want to eat healthier.
