Welcome!! My name is Paul Lappen. I am in my early 60s, single, and live in Connecticut USA. This blog will consist of book reviews, written by me, on a wide variety of subjects. I specialize, as much as possible, in small press and self-published books, to give them whatever tiny bit of publicity help that I can. Other than that, I am willing to review nearly any genre, except poetry, romance, elementary-school children's books and (really bloody) horror.

The Mediterranean Diet has many health benefits. It emphasizes the fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, fish and whole grains that come from southern Europe. An occasional glass of red wine is also acceptable.

The Diet begins with healthy fats, like olive oil. It concentrates on plant-based foods, like legumes and seeds, along with the previously mentioned fruits and vegetables. The Diet also includes whole grains, lean protein and herbs and spices. Among its many health benefits are weight management and diabetes management, cognitive health and longevity. It's a good idea to add daily physical activity and increased interaction with others to your new eating habits.

This book is full of recipes, for all times in the day. Start with something small, like using olive oil instead of butter. It is very easy to use, for chefs of all skill levels, and is recommended for everyone who wants to start eating healthier.
